I wanted to make a video compilation of all my good bits from my Snowboarding Trips last year to show you how I have improved. Within 15 days of snowboarding I was doing backside and frontside 1’s, mahusive kickers and heading off-piste into the POW. This year I intend to go for another 15 days of pure heaven and who knows what I’ll get up to! Anyway, have a look and let me know what you think!
So I’ve been bad again and not reall posting. My life has been particually boring of late… playing poker, losing and winning (and losing again!). Losing my camera so not being able to show the delightful views from Tower 42 and when I went Go-Karting at King’s Cross. Chris and Becs splitting up. Will with his bad back. House playing Mario Dance Party (will definately get some picture and if you’re lucky some video!). Taylor finally crossing the Alantic Ocean and settling down in London. Me heading back to my local club back in King’s Lynn for the first time 5 years and Chris T getting jiggy with Rich’s friend that he had fancied for years (Sophie - If you’re reading this then shame on you!).
Don’t worry though because I’m in for a rollercoaster of a ride in the next few months and it will defintely have it’s ups and downs but I’ll try to post as much as possible! Here is a sneak preview: Ski and Snowboard Show, Champions League (Arsenal v CSKA Moscow) at the Emirates Stadium, buying Snowboard gear, going on the B-Unit Trip! Woop Woop! See you at the next post!
I saw this on Google Video tonight and was very entertaining to watch. Microsoft UK commission David Brent (aka Ricky Gervais) and Stephen Merchant to take part in a spoof Training Video for their employees. Video 1 is regarding Microsoft’s “Core Values” and Video 2 is talking about “Realising Potential” (whatever that means!). All I say (as does Stephen Merchant in the first vid), when is Peter Kay going to be Corporate Social Responsibility Lead for the company I work for?
So what better way to do a review of a new product than to use it as you review it! I’m now writing this blog on the using Microsoft’s latest Live product, Windows Live Writer. It’s a cross between WordPad and Frontpage. It lets you compose your blogs in a WYSIWYG format so for the less techie or people that would prefer to see how their writings look before they post will see this as welcome this new application.
Common features include:
Insert Link: Insert a link in less than 5 seconds
Formatting Text: includes bold, italic, underline, strike-through, colours
bullet numbering#
bullet points
alignment (centre)
block quotes
Save Draft: Automatic save funtionality and easily retreive posts
Some enhanced features which are really cool include:
Insert Picture: insert a picture from your PC directly onto the page and format at a click of a button.
Insert Map: it allows you to add road maps or aerial maps from almost anywhere in the world!
View Layout: provides you with a previews layouts of your blog before posting including normal (word format), web layout (as seen on the web), web preview (as seen on your blog), html layout (code)
Undo: Like as if your were in MS Word, you can press Ctr-Z and undo your actions
Check Spelling: Again as if you were in MS Word, this will check your spelling for you before you post
Post Properties: Edit date entry, allow comments and trackbacks, insert keywords

Overall impressions: This is my first time using it and I’ve got to say that I’m pretty impressed with all the features that are included with Windows Live Writer. I am definately going to start using this to post my blogs and it will make me post more often due to easy to use interface. Microsoft have outdone themselves with this free piece of software and probably their first killer Live App they have released. One thing that keeps niggling me is that it’s a local application and therefore you will have to download it on to other computers (e.g. at Work) if you want to use it elsewhere. With Google leading the way with Web Applications (e.g. Google Spreadsheet), Microsoft may have taken a wrong path in not making this available via the web and easily avialable. Barring this one small negative point which personally I have now qualms about, I think it’s a great product and fingers cross for more applications like this!
For many reasons (including the hot enjoyable weather, being on holiday and not being bothered…) I haven’t been updating my blog. I promise more exciting things to come but in the mean time, here are some pictures from my 2 weeks away:
So it was my birthday over the weekend and decided to have a big party. Chums came from far a field to attend this exclusive party and they weren’t dissapointed. It started off on Friday night in the Drunken Monkey where friends from work and home congregated. Many Mojitos were consumed and not enough dim sum was chucked into our stomach so we all headed to good old Brick Lane for the Curry at the Shampan. Eat lots of food, get drunk on Kingfisher and get burnt by flaming sambuca’s. Classic night out!
The next day was spent with Chris T and Matt B in London doing the touristy thing visiting a museum but not any old boring museum… oh no… it was the Science Museum! Did you know that a they used to used Ether as an anaesthetic but nobody knew of it’s highly explosive nature when mixed with alot of oxygen and couldn’t understand why people stomach’s were self combusting!
Meanwhile the lovely housemate’s of 5 Speed House were preparing the special venue with fairy lights, music and all. Thanks Becs, Will and Chris E for putting the effort in! We got back at about 7 and was ready to party!
Highlights of the party were:
On the hour Tequila Shot Station (with alarm)
Eurovision Sweepstake with rules that weren’t robust and ended up with Sil drinking all the time
Sil being given a wedgie, pistacio nuts and ice down his trousers
Sil almost being chucked over the balcony
Getting abirthday cake made by Alex
Lowlights of the party were:
Sil locking himself in the toilet
Sil being sick in the locked toilet
Sil being sick in his bed while every one was watching
Sil missing the kebab run after being sick
Sil falling asleep while everyone else was still party till the early morning
Sunday was a total right off… Everyone looked like zombies and we eventually made it to Smiths of Smithfield for “dunch”. I was so dead that I couldn’t appreciate the ride back home in Medium Rich’s Porsche Boxter!
Anyway, I hope everyone who made it to the party enjoyed themselves. As you can see by this short passage I have many holes of what went on during the party so I was hoping that all of you can fill in the gaps. Please go here to add a comment about the party and help me bring back some wonderful memories!
So there I was trying to look for the Ice Bar (Heddon Street) just off Regents Street and missed the turning and ended up on Saville Row and there it was… An Abercrombie & Fitch coming soon board outside the building. There were no dates on when it would be opening but looks like it’s soon. I had a quick scan on their website and on Google and it looks like they’re keeping this hush hush! So be the first to hear it from me! I’ll try to update you when it opens. Keep your eyes peeled!
Some of you maybe wondering what’s happening on Saturday 20th May. Some of you maybe wondering what the hell is this guy on about??? Well we have unconfirmed reports that there is a special guestline hovering about and if you’re on, then make sure you’re ready with your party outfit! More details to follow! I promise…
P.S. If you look hard enough around the weblog, you might find something which relates to this date…
Thanks to all who sponsored me for my 3 Yorkshire Peaks Challenge! All proceeds have gone to VSO and help Laura Stephenson to make her target of £5000!
Despite the rain and big river crossings, we managed to complete the gruelling trip in just over 12 hours. I started off pretty steadily and conquered the first peak in a good time but when we got down it my knee injury came back to haunt me! I very was determined walked the last two peaks like an invalid! We did the last hour of the walk was in pitch black and Laura was on the verge of calling the moutain rescue team! But to our dissapointment this never occurred and we did actually have to complete it! That night we had a well deserved rest and curry at Laura’s house. The walk took a toll on the next with everyone waking up at 2 in the afternoon and having to catch a train back to London at 3.30! We made it though but again I slept all the way back!
