In Depth
I’m part of the BBC. Not the good old British Broadcasting Corporation but the British Born Chinese. I was born in King’s Lynn, Norfolk and grew up there until going to university. Starting primary school at Whitefriars, then going on to Wisbech Grammar for secondary.
One of main passions during my childhood was Gymnastics. I started in a recreational class when I was five and gradually moved into it more seriously a couple year slater. I trained for 3 hours, 5 times a weeks at the aged of eight and I competed in many competitions including the many international finals. I also attained a place in the Under 13’s and Under 15’s GB National Squad. The long hours continued until I was 15 when I suddenly got a serious injury and had to have surgery on it. This resulted in retiring from the sport. I was determined not completely finish from the sport so I decided to start again with a similar discipline called Sports Acrobatics. This allow me to continue training, without seriously aggrevating my old injury. After two years of training, I managed to get a place in the Junior GB Sports Acrobatics Squad and compete in some international competitions. These included the Ukraine and Denmark. Unfortunately due to pressure of academic studies, I decided to retire from the sport.
After doing A-Levels at Wisbech Grammar, I went to the University of Leeds to study engineering. I moved into halls of residence in my first year and then moved into a house for the remaining years. I met my girlfriend at university. Alex is the most beautiful girl in the world and I love her so much. We’ve been together for almost 7 years and each week feels like the first week. She comes from Geordie Land (Newcastle) but has lost the accent since as my accent (proper english!) has more influence on her.
I started living and working in August 2004, for a Management and IT Consulting firm in London, UK and now a Consultant specialising in Customer Relationship Management in the Communications and High Tech Industry.
This Site
As you can see, I’m not in it for the money. In fact, I’m not in it for the fame. Nobody influences what I write apart from me. This site is primarily for me for a number of reasons… Although I lack the discipline updating my blog regularly, it’s nice to have some accounts of what you have done in the past. Some of the minor detail is what makes reading things I wrote 2 years ago so special. I’m also keen to keep on top of the wave that is so aptly name the “Internet Revolution”. I think this wave has almost taken it’s course and the next one to catch I think is how we manage all the information we have conceived and how this is used. I love tweaking about with web applications and a blog allows you to do this and share your experiences. Lastly, I’m building up a taste for Photography and I would like to share my experiences as I progress.
