So I typed into Google “Bognor Regis” and what came up first on the list?… You’ve guessed it Butlins! And that’s what you get when you arrive, the big tent right next to the seaside and the lovely weather… Enough about that, the real reason for my first trip down to the lovely seaside resort was to celebrate Alex’s cousin’s (Richard) wedding. This was Richard’s and Daisy’s third wedding! Their first one was the civil service, then one in Brazil and then this one Bognor. You see, Daisy’s from Brazil and so they decided to celebrate it there too! How cool is that having so many celebrations. The whole Northumberland posse came down to witness this brilliant event! We also visited Alex’s other cousins, Emily and Esther and their respective other half’s Kev and Steve. They said we could go to the arcades on the Sunday after the wedding, but we woke up a bit a late and didn’t manage to get there in time They did promise that the next time we came down that they would take us to the 2p slot machines (Emily, I’m holding you to that!) So back to the wedding… It was on the Saturday night and we were lucky enough to sit near the front of the ceremony so we had a good view. It was a bit weird as I’ve been to a few ceremonies but it was pretty emotional to see these to getting married. I think it was because the last time I saw them was about 3 years ago and Daisy couldn’t speak any English. But when she was saying her vows to Richard in fluent English, it was so amazing to see and hear! The reception followed in the recreation room next door where Kim (Alex’s auntie) prepared a wonderful selection of food. I was absolutely starving by that time as we all hadn’t eaten that day but we did get the heads up when we were allowed to start digging in (Thanks Neil!). The food and drink was delicious, Lesley’s Wedding cake was exquisite and the speeches were really funny, especially Neil’s (Best Man aka Richard’s Dad) one talking about Weight Watchers and quoting thing’s from the bible but then forgetting what they actually were! Brazilian dancing followed into the early hours and everyone was very merry! I hope Richard and Daisy enjoyed themselves!

We’ve got to thank Jean for putting up with both of us that night and for the cousins for letting us use their places as a base. Also, for taking us to Bognor and Littlehampton Train Station…

Overall, I had a wicked first time down there and I can’t wait to get back down their to start making the big bucks on the slots! Look out Bognor… I’m coming to rule your town!

Mylo @ Brixton Academy

So a big bunch of us went to see Mylo @ Brixton Academy. We had a nice home cooked meal made by the lovely Becs and watched X-Factor as our warm-up to the live event. When we arrived, Jon and Danny didn’t have tickets so we were on the prowl for some “spare” ones outside the box office. They were asking for £80 for a pair!!! Chris and me being the dealer we are we managed to hustle them down to £50 which was a fair price for on the day prices. They were only £9 above the face value. Enough about not talking about the gig… We got there about 10.30pm and it was absolutely packed! However, I managed to bumped into one of my ex-collegues at work Annabel! So because it was a absolutely baltic night, we had our winter clothes on and we wanted to put them into the cloakroom and did that first. It was a good idea because we steaming by the time we got into the viewing area. ANyway there were some good support guys before Mylo and they played a good rendition of Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”. So we waited until 12.30pm for Mylo and it exploded. There was square screen behind him and it was very hypnotic… with all the wierd pictures and epileptic strobes… Anyway, he played all his classic hits and played some new stuff which I assume will be on his new album which should be out sometime next year. He played until 2.30pm and then he won’t be playing in the UK until 2008 but at least we got to his last gig

Nobody still knows what Web 2.0 is going to look like but the creators of Flock have a there own idea’s on how it may pan out.

Flock is a web browser based on Mozilla Firefox. Flock’s creators call it a “social browser”, meaning it is able to interact with popular social websites. Such websites include Flickr (photo sharing), Delicious (bookmark sharing), Technorati, blogs and news aggregation.

I’ve played around with it for about 10 minutes and my first impressions aren’t that hot. I like the concept of online favorites and being able to blog from your browser but it’s giving that “wow” factor. I’m currently using Mozilla’s Firefox which is a superb browser. My favorite feature is the rss feeds coming straight off the Bookmarks. It means you don’t have to go to a particular website and trawl through all the news before hitting one that interests you. It’s definately enhanced my way of browsing.

In general, Firefox is one of the top browser due to the fact that you can customise it heavily (with extentions and rss feeds), tabbed browsing and larger area to view web pages. Who needs online bookmarks… keep them in your head (that’s what I do). Long live Firefox!!!
