You would have thought that a game that was released in 2001 would have probably worn out by now… Oh no, Chris and Will have managed to play Super Smash Bros Melee to death, reincarnated it and played it to death again! I got back late from Newcastle tonight and I could hear them from outside the flat shouting and swearing! Both of them are obsessed with game and it’s got to the point where they think they are really the characters in the game! It almost breaks up the house atmosphere when someone wins by a “margin”… The other person doesn’t speak for about 2 weeks! I did start to play it for a little while (way back in the day!), but now it’s getting too intense and if I was like any of those two then I would probably have to move out by now! I took the day off from work on Friday and went to see Ally in Leeds to get her 5th year exam results! It was very nerve racking for her but I knew that she was going to pass. It was a bit crazy for all the medical students though because the admin staff put up the results and then realised that they were wrong and had to take them down again. They had to wait another half hour before the proper results were put up. After that we travelled up to Newcastle to Ally’s parent home for the weekend before she goes to Sri Lanka and Singapore for 2 months. We didn’t do that much while we were up there which was quite good because all I seemed to do was sleep! I showed her the the Blog I set up for her so that she can start using it for her elective and seem to like it alot. Hopefully she’ll use it if they have some sort of internet connection over there! Fingers Cross! Love you lots Ally and have a safe trip!

What is it?
Google Earth combines satellite imagery, maps and the power of Google Search to put the world’s geographic information at your fingertips.

I’ve just had a little play with it and basically it’s flying around like Superman . You have the world at your fingertips in 3D and you can hop from one place to another at a click of a button. You can also plan a “sightseeing” route, hit play and away you go… zoom in to the landmark… zoom out… earth rotates… zoom into the the landmark… etc. Around the world in 80 seconds! Very good detail and excellent for those skin flints who can’t afford a round the world ticket!

Three things to report on…

1. I’m trying out this online photo storage system from Flickr and I have uploaded this photo to see how it looks on my blog. Not bad hey?

2. It was Charlie’s Birthday night out and she decided that we would all go to the Wimbledon Stadium to get involved with some greyhound racing action! Unfortuantely there was no winning on my part! I lot about £15. We all then went to a Young’s Bar called Finches which reminded me of being back at Uni. It was one of the first times I felt like I was a bit out of place…

3. I’ve found out what’s wrong with me when I eat fruit like Apple, Pear and Apricot! Jim brough his girlfriend, Elle, who it is a dietrician and we were just talking about her job and came on to the subjust of how I get an itchy throat when I eat certain types of fruit. She instantly knew what it was! It’s called Oral Allergy Syndrome. I’m allergic to the Birch Pollen coated on the outside of the fruit. She recommends that I either wash the fruit thoroughly or peel the skin and then weah it before i eat it!

Why am I paying £60 per month to go to a dingy gym which has a swimming pool (which I have never used!)t? I decided to go for a run with Will after work and it was pretty gruelling as I hadn’t done any sort of excercise for 2 weeks. You can see below the route we took and it was really interesting. We passed through St. Pauls, Millenium Bridge and London Bridge. The whole route was about 6.5 km and we did it in about 38mins. Pretty slow I know but I don’t think I’ve ever run that long in one go so you’ve got to start somewhere!!! Had a shower and now my legs are feeling a bit wobbly! Hopefully I’ll sleep it off but we’ll see how they feel in the morning. Maybe I’ll need to take a taxi! We’ll see!

What a relaxing Sunday afternoon! I love going back home to a proper house where you’re out the way of the hussle and bussle. It’s nice to be around greenery and drive on open roads… oh and nice to get in to my pool on a hot afternoon! Ahhhh….

This week end I went home for Olly’s birthday. We had a really nice dinner and got really mashed throughout the night. I’m be coming quite the networking man… knowing everyone there (eventhough I didn’t!). A very similar situation to the Fulham night out… Anyway enough about that! Chris got really hammered and her are some of the photos to prove it!

Well as everyone has now heard, 4 separate bombs were set off on Thursday morning during the morning rush hour where as many as 50 people tragically lost their lives. It’s a very sad and strange thing to happen in a city where you live. Especially when these happen just on your doorstep. Anyway, we can’t let these things phase us and beat us. We have to be strong and continue with our everyday lives. If we live in fear we don’t live our lives to the full.

Walked into work this morning thinking that it was going to be a normal day at the office. Nothing happend much on my way to work passing St. Paul’s Cathedral and traffic was normal… Got into the office and half the people were missing. First it was train’s being delayed in the south, then there was a “bang” in the Aldgate tube station, then my friend rang me saying he was stuck in stockwell and the tube station had closed and he has to get a bus, then there was an exploding bus, then the whole tube network was shutdown and then my friend rang me again saying he was chucked off the bus… (take 5 secs to breath!). What is going on? It’s early days at the moment but will report back with full story later!
