This site is written by me, Sil-Mon Li. This means that I write and comments on specific topics as well as share articles that interest me.
I’ve had a few attempts at writing and providing my own content on various blogs. What I like doing on a day to day basis is reading about the latest technology news and contemplating whether it will have a significant impact on our lives in the present and future. I’ve been doing that for last 20 years but not done much with it apart from buying a lot of (expensive and sometime useless) gadgets. However there was a positive in doing this… I was known as the “go to guy” for all things tech.
Here’s my conclusion… My ramblings and grammar are not so great and very boring to read. There are other people who do a much better job at this so I’ve decided to share things I have read that are worth sharing (from my perspective). I may sometimes write a little piece if I feel passionate about a new topic and even share news outside the technology circle. It will probably have something related to things that look aesthetically good, useful or interesting (to me), picture of me or my family or even something about Arsenal Football Club.
Since I was a little kid I have always found technology fascinating. I grew up wanting to be an Astronaut and also tried to work out how things worked. So wanting to live in Space and watching “Transformers” had a big influence in my early years and it paved the way on what I should do at school and university. I concentrated on Math and Science at school then studied Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at university. But the dream of becoming an Astronaut (or a Transformer) came to a sudden halt when I realised that I wouldn’t make the cut. Reality and responsibilities soon kicked in once I had completed my Master’s degree. Engineering wasn’t something I wanted to do for the rest of my life and I didn’t have a particular thing I wanted to do. So I went to London and started working for a Consulting firm which I had hope would provide me with the broad range of business and life skills for my pending future. After 7 years in this business I decided to take a break with my wife. We visited Japan, South America and lived in Melbourne, Australia. I’m now entering the next 30 years of my life and having experienced many different things the one constant (apart from friends, family and my beautiful wife) is that I know I am passionate about technology. So this is what I want to share… See you at the next post.
- Like I said. My spelling and grammar is awful. Apologise for this in advance.
